School Attendance Matters (SAM)
We know that school attendance matters and we work closely with parents and carers to promote excellent attendance. We celebrate good attendance on both an individual and class basis to encourage regular attendance. We also work with the Local Authority and local schools in the Swanmore College Pyramid to promote good attendance and you can download copies of our pyramid 'Attendance Matters' leaflets for parents at the bottom of this page.
Evidence shows that good attendance is important because:
· Regular attenders make better progress, both socially and academically
· Regular attenders find school routines and school work easier to cope with
· Regular attenders find learning more satisfying
· Regular attenders have an easier transfer to their next school
Each week we celebrate our children's attendance and present one class with a 'School Attendance Matters' certificate and SAM the dog, during Worship on Monday morning.
Congratulations to this week's SAM class who have achieved excellent attendance!
100% attendance for Victoria Class
Each term we also celebrate individual attendance excellence and present every child who has not missed a single day's learning with an Attendance Award.
Congratulations to the children who achieved 100% Attendance in the spring term!
Watch this space for the children who acheive 100% this academic year!
