Learning

At Wickham Church of England Primary School learning is at the heart of all that we do. We believe that staff who love learning inspire children to do the same. Children learn all day, during lessons, playtimes, lunchtimes, school trips and collective worship. Learning is the acquisition of any new skill, concept, knowledge or understanding. We have developed an engaging curriculum to secure personal success for all of our children.

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

― Benjamin Franklin

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”

― Albert Einstein

“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.”

― Socrates

“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.

― Jiddu Krishnamurti

“Students who are more confident of their own learning ability learn faster and learn better. They concentrate more, think harder and find learning more enjoyable. They do better in their tests and external examinations.”

― Guy Claxton
